Corned Beef Brining Spices - Salt-Free


This brine is the first step in transforming a brisket into memorable corned beef! This delicious blend of herbs and spices will add a great flavor to beef for any occasion. Just heat 4 cups of water, add 1 cup of kosher salt and one cup of light brown sugar. Stir to dissolve, and add contents of spice packet. Let cool completely and add one can of stout or 2 cups of water to the mix. Poke meat all over with a sharp knife. Cover meat with brine and let flavors meld for one to five days.

Ingredients: Yellow mustard, black pepper, allspice, bay leaf, coriander, thyme, cinnamon, marjoram, pink pepperberries.
